Death By Water is the most recent novel to make into English by Japan’s Nobel Prize winner Kenzaburo Oe – all about memory and family, military coups and writers facing the steady loss of their powers.
Back in December 2015 I reviewed the book for The Telegraph – here.
We also had a discussion about Oe and Japan on BBC Radio 3’s Free Thinking – here.
